Willamette Falls Legacy Project will be at the First City Celebration on Saturday, July 23! Come see us between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. at 8th and Main in downtown Oregon City.
Project staff, riverwalk designers and volunteers from the non-profit friends group, Rediscover the Falls, will be there to talk with everyone from the community one more time before riverwalk design alternatives are developed this summer! We look forward to hearing your ideas for different things to do at the riverwalk during each of the four seasons.
The amazing, world-class design collective of Snøhetta, Mayer/Reed and DIALOG has been immersed in researching and brainstorming design alternatives for the riverwalk. To guide their work, designers have proposed a set of eight riverwalk program elements (key uses) that are founded on the project’s four core values: Public Access, Healthy Habitat, Historic and Cultural Interpretation, and Economic Redevelopment. They are also influenced by a multitude of community inputs that have been gathered over the course of numerous public engagement events and tours, public surveys and meetings with stakeholder groups.
You’ll see these key uses incorporated into the design alternatives coming this fall. Come to the festival on Saturday to participate in a fun activity about how these uses can be manifested on the riverwalk over the four seasons.
